Cautious optimism on economy despite July IPI boost

HLIB Research said that July’s IPI growth was better than the consensus expectations for a 0.2% year-on-year decline.

PETALING JAYA: Analysts are maintaining a cautious outlook on Malaysia’s gross domestic product (GDP) and economic expansion.

This is despite July’s industrial production index (IPI) rebounding to a growth of 0.7% year-on-year (y-o-y), compared to a contraction of 2.2% a month earlier.
