Cagamas appoints Kameel Abdul Halim as president, CEO


KUALA LUMPUR: Cagamas Bhd has appointed Kameel Abdul Halim as its new president and chief executive officer (CEO), effective Sept 11, 2023.

Kameel will succeed Datuk Chung Chee Leong, whose term concludes on Aug 30, 2023.

In a statement today, the national mortgage corporation stated that Kameel has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, with a wide range of expertise in commercial banking, development finance, and investment banking.

"He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) from Coventry University, United Kingdom (UK), and a Masters in Risk Management (Hons) from the University of Nottingham, UK.

"The board of directors is pleased to welcome Kameel as he takes the helm of the company in its upcoming phase of growth,” Cagamas said. - Bernama
