Vietnamese firms may face higher costs of layoffs in the long term


HANOI: Just because many Vietnamese companies are shedding staff by the thousands amid the economic downturn doesn’t mean others should follow suit.

According to the Agency for Business Registration, the economic downturn has hit so hard that over 100,000 companies either ceased operations or were waiting to be dissolved in the first six months of 2023.
