Sersol says it has been contacted by MACC

KUALA LUMPUR: Sersol Bhd says it has been contacted by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on an investigation pertaining to certain payments made by the company to a third party, which were approved and instructed by its chief executive officer Datuk Wira Justin Lim Hwa Tat.

The Johor-based ACE Market-listed coating solutions provider also revealed that Lim has been away overseas since February 2023 for the purpose and reason only known to him.

"The majority of the board of the company had not received any update from him thus far,” it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

Sersol was responding to articles which appeared on local news portals focusmalaysia.my and www.nst.com.my dated July 12, 2023, titled "Has Sersol head honcho Justin Lim Hwa Tat gone into hiding” and "MACC looking for man with Datuk title to assist investigation”. - Bernama
