Citi Malaysia chief executive officer Vikram Singh

KUALA LUMPUR: Citi Malaysia has won the Best International Bank in Malaysia at the 2023 FinanceAsia Awards.

“We are honoured to receive this award, which is testament to the strength of our franchise, the depth of our world-class talent, and commitment to standards of excellence as we entrench our market leadership in Malaysia. We would like to thank our clients for their continued trust and support with Citi,” chief executive officer Vikram Singh said in a statement.

Citi Malaysia previously won the same award in 2018.

The bank said its institutional clients group remained uniquely positioned to take advantage of important, evolving global trends, including mobility, fintech, wellness and sustainability, and deliver responsible, objective advice and provide stellar execution to lead transformation for clients.

Citi is the financial adviser and transaction bank of choice for some of Malaysia’s largest corporates, including Petronas and Genting. Its recent deals include the Genting Malaysia US$1bil 10-year bond and the Petronas US$3bil bond.

Citi also has a dominant market share amongst the multinational clients in Malaysia by leveraging its Global Subsidiaries Group franchise as the preferred banking partner for almost all leading Fortune 500 multinationals.
