Pertama Digital share placement to raise RM88mil


Pertama Digital chief executive officer Saify Akhtar said the group plans to leverage on the capital injection through the placement exercise to drive its capabilities and offerings in the market.

PETALING JAYA: Pertama Digital Bhd aims to raise up to RM87.8mil via its placement exercise that entails an issuance of 43 million new shares or 10% of its total number of issued shares to Macquarie Bank Ltd.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Pertama Digital noted Macquarie Bank does not have plans to appoint a board member or to participate in the management or decision making of the company post placement.Pertama Digital had announced in June 2022 its plans to start a neobank in collaboration with licensed Islamic banks in a bid to accelerate digital Islamic banking.
