KUALA LUMPUR: Pekat Group Bhd has assured that despite facing RM2.2mil claims over the supply and installation of two solar photovoltaic (PV) systems from Multiplex Packaging Sdn Bhd, it is business as usual for Pekat.
The solar PV and earthing and lightning protection (E&LP) specialist is seeking the necessary legal advice to defend this matter and an appearance has been entered to defend the Writ on March 6 by its solicitors.
“The management of Pekat strongly affirms that the case will not hinder or affect the continuation of the group’s on-going or future projects.
“The amount claimed is not expected to have any material financial impact on the company for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2023 and as such will not have any impact to our financial standing and commitments,” Pekat said.
Pekat’s wholly-owned subsidiary Pekat Solar Sdn Bhd received a writ of summons and statement of claim from Multiplex dated Feb 16, 2023 pertaining to disputes on supply and installation of two solar PV systems under the net energy metering (NEM) system and self-consumption system allowable by the Energy Commission at the material time.
