Central bank reappoints syariah council members

The reappointed members include new SAC chairman Prof Dr Ashraf Md Hashim and new SAC deputy chairman Prof Dr Engku Rabiah Adawiah Engku Ali.

PETALING JAYA: Bank Negara has reappointed four Syariah Advisory Council (SAC) members for a three-year term and appointed two new SAC members for a two-year stint with effect from Jan 1, 2023.

In a statement yesterday, Bank Negara said the appointments were in accordance with section 53(1) of the Central Bank of Malaysia Act 2009.
