Sunview secures RM94mil photovoltaic job

PETALING JAYA: Sunview Group Bhd has secured a RM93.8mil contract from Advancecon Holdings Bhd for the development of a 26 megawatt photovoltaic (PV) plant in Kuala Langat, Selangor.

The end-to-end solar PV system construction player said its wholly-owned subsidiary, Fabulous Sunview Sdn Bhd, had secured the contract from LSS TPG Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned unit of Advancecon Holdings Bhd.

Sunview said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia that it would provide project preliminaries, management and engineering, consultancy services, procurement of solar PV modules and equipment, earthworks, civil works and ancillary works, along with testing and commissioning services in the project.

Chief executive officer Ong Hang Ping (pic) said the contract would be the first of many more to come in facilitating the shift towards the adoption of renewable energy (RE) in Malaysia.

“This marks the group’s maiden contract as a listed entity and we will continue to capitalise on our proven track record and experienced technical and management team to remain competitive in the market, hence strengthening our order book.

“Moving forward, we will continue to champion Malaysia’s transition towards the adoption of RE as the one-stop solutions centre for individuals and companies that want to utilise solar power as their source of energy.”

The contract is expected to commence in February 2023 and be completed by Nov 30, 2023.

Sunview is primarily involved in the provision of engineering, procurement and commissioning of solar PV facilities for industrial, commercial and residential buildings.

The group is registered under the Sustainable Energy Development Authority Malaysia as a solar service provider and solar PV investor.

A certified contractor of Tenaga Nasional Bhd, Sunview is also an energy service company under the Energy Commission and a G7 contractor on the industry development board.

For the first quarter ended June 30, 2022, Sunview posted a revenue of RM31.5mil and a net profit of RM1.8mil. There are no comparative figures as the group had only made its debut on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia last week.

In its prospectus, Sunview said it would continue to focus on its expansion in the RE sector in Malaysia, backed by its track record in providing solar PV services.

Sunview said it would expand into other RE facilities for the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of biogas plants and complementary products and purchase operational equipment for its solar PV business operations.

The group said it does not foresee any material adverse effect on its financial position or business.
