Court orders Genting Hong Kong to wind up business

PETALING JAYA: Cruise operator Genting Hong Kong Ltd has been ordered by the Bermuda Court to wind up its business.

“The company announces that the company and Dream Cruises were ordered to be wound up by the Bermuda Court on Oct 7, 2022 in accordance with section 161 of the Companies Act,” Genting Hong Kong said in a filing on Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

"In addition, the joint provisional liquidators (JPLs) and joint provisional liquidators of Dream Cruises (DCHL JPLs) have been ordered to continue as joint provisional liquidators of the company and Dream Cruises, respectively, and their powers shall not be limited," it said.

Application was made to the stock exchange for the suspension of trading in the shares of the company with effect from Jan 18, 2022 and will remain suspended until further notice.
