KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit ended at the lowest level in 24 years against the US dollar today amid deepening global economic uncertainty and rising US Treasury yields that spurred investors to flock to the greenback, trouncing the world’s currencies in the process, including the ringgit.
At 6.01 pm, the local currency fell to 4.5020/5040 against the greenback from Tuesday's close of 4.4970/4500.
