KPJ Healthcare appoints Nik Fawaz Nik Abdul Aziz as chief commercial officer


KUALA LUMPUR: KPJ Healthcare has appointed Dr Nik Fawaz Nik Abdul Aziz as its new chief commercial officer, effective Aug 15, 2022.

Nik Fawaz succeeds Nik Izhar Nik Mahammed, which had stepped down from the role to pursue other interests.

Nik Fawaz was formerly the head of Edgenta Healthcare Solutions and the managing director of Edgenta Mediserve Sdn Bhd.

According to KPJ, he has had 16 years of experience in healthcare, transformation and hospital services, both locally and internationally.

"Dr Nik Fawaz led the transformation of notable hospitals and integrated operations, where he played an instrumental role in scaling up operations and advancing digital healthcare.

"Across UEM Edgenta Berhad’s healthcare support businesses, he has led the integration of commercial and concession hospital operations as well as embarked on digital healthcare initiatives whilst playing a key role in the exploration of business in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," it said.

Additionally, Nik Fawaz was previously the CEO for Cardiac Vascular Sentral Kuala Lumpur Sdn Bhd where he founded and established a specialised hospital for patients with cardiac and vascular diseases, under the umbrella of TE Asia Healthcare.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Nik Fawaz held numerous leadership roles, including head of medical affairs and quality, Parkway Pantai-Malaysia Operations (subsidiary of IHH Healthcare Bhd); chief operating officer of Pantai Hospital Batu Pahat; head of business development unit, imaging and facilities and maintenance, Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur; and head of business development, Prince Court Medical Centre Sdn Bhd.
