Aeon Co appoints Ono Keiji as MD/CEO effective June 30

KUALA LUMPUR: Aeon Co (M) Bhd has appointed Ono Keiji as managing director and chief executive officer (MD/CEO), following the resignation of Shafie Shamsuddin effective June 30.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the retailer said Ono has 27 years’ experience serving various roles within the Aeon Group globally.

Prior to this, Ono has served as president and representative director of Aeon Cambodia and joins Aeon Co (M) from his role as president and representative director of AEON Ryukyu Co. Ltd in Japan.

“Shafie has been instrumental in Aeon’s transformational journey. His visionary and inspirational leadership has created an Aeon that is more resilient and agile to meet future challenges. We thank him for his dedication and commitment and wish him all the best in his future endeavours", chairman Datuk Iskandar Sarudin said.
