Sanlam may sell stake in MCIS


The sale may be completed before the end of this year

KUALA LUMPUR: Sanlam Ltd, Africa’s biggest insurer, is planning to sell its entire 51% stake in life insurer MCIS Insurance Bhd for about US$100mil (RM418.2mil), according to people with knowledge of the matter.

The Cape Town, South Africa-based firm has hired an adviser for the planned sale, the people said, asking not to be identified as the information is private.
