PETALING JAYA: Kelington Group Bhd has won a RM45mil contract to undertake Ultra High Purity (UHP) works for GlobalFoundries Inc’s new semiconductor fabrication plant in Singapore.
With the new contract, the integrated engineering solutions provider’s outstanding order book has increased to RM523mil. Year-to-date, Kelington said it had clinched approximately RM264mil of new orders, inclusive of the latest contract win.
In a statement yesterday, Kelington announced that the new RM45mil contract was won by its wholly-owned subsidiary, Kelington Engineering (S) Pte Ltd.
“Under the contract, Kelington will be handling the specialty gas system distribution works for the phase one construction of GlobalFoundries’ 300mm wafer fab.
“The new fabrication plant is expected to be the most advanced semi manufacturing facility in Singapore, and its memory solutions will be catered for fast-growing end-markets in the automotive, fifth generation (5G) mobility and secure device segments,” it said.
The contract will commence immediately and is slated to be completed by July 2022.
Kelington chief executive officer Raymond Gan said the latest contract win from GlobalFoundries, one of the leading semiconductor manufacturers in the world, would enhance the group’s corporate profile.
