Majuperak facilitates Perak’s vaccination rollout

MHB group CEO Nizran Noordin said through its PVP called “SilverVax”, the vaccine supply will be made available to private companies for their workforce and family members.

PETALING JAYA: Majuperak Holdings Bhd (MHB) has signed a deal with Pharmaniaga LifeScience Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Pharmaniaga Bhd, for the supply of the Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine.

Following Putrajaya’s decision to allow state governments or the private sector to buy vaccines, the Perak State Development Corp (PKNPk) through MHB has been granted authority to lead the purchase of vaccines for the Perak Vaccine Programme (PVP).

MHB has appointed and authorised Hospital Ar-Ridzuan as the vaccine distributor on behalf of MHB in Perak.

MHB group CEO Nizran Noordin said through its PVP called “SilverVax”, the vaccine supply will be made available to private companies for their workforce and family members.

“These targeted private companies are namely small, medium and large corporations in the manufacturing, plantation, services and property industries,” he said in a statement.

The vaccinations will be administered at Hospital Ar-Ridzuan in Ipoh starting August 2021 and other vaccination centres that have been identified with the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force.

“As we look forward to phase three of the National Recovery Plan, it is integral that we ensure that the Perak workforce meets with the 40% vaccination requirement,” said Datuk Redza Rafiq Abdul Razak, executive chairman of MHB and CEO of PKNPk.

Redza added that MHB and EB Holdings Sdn Bhd were also finalising the details to acquire Sinopharm’s vaccine from Duopharma Biotech Bhd.
