KUALA LUMPUR: Organisers of the fifth edition of APPIES Malaysia Marketing Awards have released the list of winners.
APPIES is an annual event that allows creative, media, digital and marketing agencies or brands to present their campaigns to the industry.
Despite hosting it virtually, it is the only event where live presentations meet live judging. And this year, the event was open free for the public to watch Malaysia’s best marketing campaigns in action.
APPIES Malaysia president Harmandar Singh said: “I thanked the 35-member jury panel of marketing leaders for reviewing the case studies prior to judging the live presentations.
“From a field of almost 90 submissions, 69 campaigns made the final shortlist. Eventually the best rose to the top and this year produced eight Gold, 11 Silver, 11 Bronze and seven Certificate of Excellence (Merit) winners.”
APPIES Malaysia 2021 head of jury Santharuban T. Sundaram said: “As most of the campaigns ran during the birth of the pandemic, it is evident brands, agencies and the marketing fraternity were resilient, creative and demonstrated foresight in bringing to life campaigns that kept these brands afloat.
“Determining the winners was not easy, the process was robust and scores were close.”
“This year saw the highest number of submissions ever and judging from the presentations, they were certainly not short on variety for participants to learn from, ” added APPIES Malaysia adviser Mohamed Adam Wee.
