BCorp expands boardroom, Robin Tan steps back to non executive role

KUALA LUMPUR: Berjaya Corp Bhd said Datuk Sri Robin Tan Yeong Ching has relinquished his executive role in the company and moved to a non independent non executive deputy chairman role.

The group has also appointed five new independent directors, expanding its boardroom to 14 people.

"The new Board composition is part of the Group’s ongoing strategic efforts to introduce additional leadership experience to support its transformation into an institutionalised corporation, managed by professionals," BCorp said.

"The newly appointed independent directors will complement the skills and experiences of the existing Board of Directors, and provide valuable perspectives as the Group continues to execute its strategies to become a high-performing organisation," it added.

The new directors are; i. Datin Seri Sunita Mei-Lin Rajakumar; ii. Datuk Leong Kwei Chun, JP (Datuk Anne Eu, JP); iii. Datuk Hisham Bin Othman; iv. Norlela Binti Baharudin; and v. Tan Peng Lam Meanwhile, BCorp has announced the resignation of Derek Chin Chee Seng as executive director.
