Resorts World Genting halts casino business, other facilities remain open

KUALA LUMPUR: Genting Malaysia Bhd has suspended its casino business at Resorts World Genting (RWG) starting today (May 24) until further notice.

The temporary closure was in compliance with the latest standard operating procedures for the Movement Control Order (MCO) 3.0, the company said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

"Meanwhile, RWG’s other facilities and attractions remain open, with limited operating hours from May 25 until June 7," it added.

Separately, the group said Resorts World Birmingham and a majority of the Group’s land-based casinos in the United Kingdom have resumed operations since May 17.

"Genting Malaysia's operations in Egypt, the United States and the Bahamas remain open," it said.
