OKA closes Senai plant due to infections

OKA Corporation, which manufactures precast concrete products, closed its Senai factory temporarily until Dec 21 after two of its workers were found to be infected with Covid-19.

KUALA LUMPUR: OKA Corp Bhd has closed its Senai factory temporarily until Dec 21 after two of its workers were found to be infected with Covid-19.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the manufacturer of precast concrete products said the two workers were out of its total workforce of 200 in the Senai factory.

“The capacity loss is estimated to be less than 0.7% of the group’s total annual output. The Senai factory is one of the five factories within the group, ” it said.

OKA Corp said the two workers were now under medical care at a government hospital.

It had immediately closed the affected Senai factory until Dec 21 as directed by the Health Ministry to carry out deep cleaning and sanitisation.
