Lenders’ asset quality likely to remain benign


According to UOB Kay Hian, banks that beat expectations have delivered stronger-than-expected net interest margin (NIM) recovery, robust non-interest income from trading gains, brokerage and unit trust income, as well as solid operating cost discipline.

PETALING JAYA: While more banks have trumped earnings expectations, it remains to be seen how their asset quality will reflect on the Covid-19 impact.
