UOB to open branches on weekends to offer COVID-19 assistance

KUALA LUMPUR: United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd will open its branches nationwide on the upcoming weekends this month to offer its COVID-19 relief assistance programme.

All its branches would be open on Sept 19-20 and Sept 26-27 at 10 am to 1 pm, except for Kota Bharu (Kelantan), Kuala Terengganu and Lebuh Bishop (Penang), it said in a statement.

The Lebuh Bishop branch would be closed during the weekends due to ongoing renovations, while the Kota Bharu and Kuala Terengganu branches will be open on Sept 18, 19, 25 and 26 (Friday and Saturday) from 10 am till 1 pm.

"We understand that some of our customers may require continued financial assistance after the loan moratorium ends on Sept 30.

"This is why we are continuing with our COVID-19 Relief Assistance Programme to offer them support beyond the moratorium (period),” chief executive officer Wong Kim Choong said.
