Sime Darby Plantation 1Q net profit jumps to RM394m


Sime Darby Plantation’s group managing director Mohamad Helmy Othman Basha said the company was prepared to embrace a “New Normal” in mitigating the impact of the pandemic to the group’s business.

KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Plantation Bhd's net profit surged by 337% to RM394mil for its continuing operations in the first quarter ended March 31,2020 compared with RM90mil a year ago.

It announced on Friday the stronger performance was due to higher contributions from both Upstream and Sime Darby Oils (Downstream) operations and lower finance costs.
