Adwork.io gaining traction among SMEs

PETALING JAYA: Advertising e-commerce platform Adwork.io is fast making headway in the small and medium enterprise (SME) segment.

Since its launch in December last year, the platform has recorded online bookings valued more than RM400,000 and this figure is expected to rise amid the ongoing movement control order (MCO).

The platform also enables media owners to offer cost-saving promotions to be enjoyed by SMEs. At the moment, Adwork.io is offering more than RM3mil worth of promotions online.

Adwork.io CEO Kumaresh Visvanathan said: “Until now, mainstream advertising has been a ‘privilege’ to large-scale organizations with huge marketing budgets which enable them to engage with media agencies. SMEs do not have this so-called luxury. This is a disconnect we want to change by making advertising more accessible online and affordable for SMEs.”

He added that while this platform is available for all businesses and organisations, it is specially designed for SMEs, across all industries in the South-East Asian region.

Kumaresh said Adwork expects to see a strong take-up and increased overall advertising expenditure by SMEs, with an initial estimated target of RM5.7mil in revenue by year-end.

Adwork’s initial offering of twelve advertising mediums would provide more value and wider options for SMEs to advertise.

In fact, he said Adwork.io is currently the biggest online advertising marketplace in South-East Asia. In time, we expect to add more channels to the repertoire of products on the platform, he added.

Meanwhile, the managing director of Spectrum Outdoor Sdn Bhd, Henry Low, who is also the president of Outdoor Advertising Association of Malaysia, acknowledged the challenging business landscape affecting SMEs. He noted that the platform is strategically positioned to assist SMEs with their advertising needs through cost-saving offers and time-saving simplicity.

“It's times like these that we should help all Malaysians, notably the SMEs. Businesses will be hard to sustain let alone flourish. These mega savings deals will definitely assist business owners to sustain and grow their business even during hard times,” Low said.
