The exuberance on Bursa Malaysia is extraordinary for the bourse, which over the last two years, has been the region’s worst performer with volumes drying up and foreigners selling out. The last time the stock market saw high volumes was on Aug 20,2014 when 7.7 billion shares were transacted.

PETALING JAYA: Trading volume on Bursa Malaysia surged to a record high of nearly 10 billion shares as punters chased gloves and medical-related stocks.

With the theme of the day continuing to be a possible second wave of Covid-19 cases, the rally on Bursa Malaysia was dominated by the glove, health and sanitiser-related stocks.
