HSSI bags first Johor BRT job


KUALA LUMPUR: HSS Integrated Sdn Bhd (HSSI), an associate company of HSS Engineers Bhd has been awarded a contract by Iskandar Regional Development Authority to provide detailed design and construction supervision services for Johor’s first Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project.

The project is worth RM71.3mil.

In a statement, HSS Engineers said the BRT transport system would consist of three high-capacity lanes and construction of a dedicated busway.

“The works will commence in the fourth quarter of 2019 and expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2023 followed by a defect liability period of 24 months which will end in the first quarter of 2025.

The project is anticipated to contribute positively to the group’s performance for the financial years ending Dec 31,2019 till 2025, ” it said.

It said the first phase of the BRT line consists of three lines. In total, the project stretches 51km through Johor, covering Iskandar Malaysia and Johor Baru. — Bernama
