Trading value surges to RM3.28b as KLCI snaps losing streak

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia witnessed a surge in trading volume and value on Friday, while late buying of Maybank enabled the FBM KLCI to snap its recent losing streak, but not enough to close above the key 1,600 level.

At 5pm, the KLCI was up 1.13 points or 0.07% to 1,597.41. Turnover was 3.10 billion shares while trading value rose to RM3.28bil. The broader market was mixed with 380 gainers, 394 losers and 449 counters unchanged.
