KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia needs to diversify its financing ecosystem in order to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) obtain funds for business growth, beyond the orthodox banking system, said Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng (pic).

He said in terms of share for SME financing, about 90% was obtained from financial institutions while the remaining 10% came from the capital market.
