Malaysia’s palm oil exports to rise on India import tax cut: Kok


KUALA LUMPUR: Exports of Malaysian palm oil to India expected to increase following the reduction of import duties in the top buyer, says Primary Industries Minister Teresa Kok.

* “I also hope that through the good gesture of the Indian government on our palm oil, the trade relations between Malaysia and India will be further enhanced,”: Kok

* Palm oil demand will also rise during Lunar New Year festive season when more oils are consumed by many countries including China, Japan 

* Kok met with Norway ambassador, who will convey to parliament and govt officials there on Malaysia’s protest to its resolution to phase out palm-biofuels
