Goh steps up to managing director in Excel Force reshuffle

PETALING JAYA: Excel Force MSC Bhd announces another new boardroom change, involving its former executive director Goh Jooi Shen, who has been redesignated as managing director.

Excel Force, which develops software solutions for the financial services industry, such as stockbroking companies and investment banks, made the announcement via a Bursa Malaysia filing.

Last Friday, Goh, 35, was appointed as Excel Force’s executive director. He has a background in corporate administration, financial management, strategic planning, and business operations.

The announcement of Goh’s appointment coincided with a change to some of the other board members of the company, with him replacing 57-year-old Wong Kok Chau, who has been redesignated as executive director, while a slew of independent directors resigned from their posts.

Accountant Teo Beng Wei, 47, was appointed independent non-executive director of Excel Force last Friday.

It was also announced last week that Excel Force’s co-founder and former managing director Wang Kuen-Chung – also known as Jeff Wang, a Taiwanese businessman – had returned as a substantial shareholder of the company.

This comes seven years after relinquishing that status and stepping down from Excel Force.

According to a Sept 7 bourse filing, Wang currently holds 94.4 million shares of the company, representing a direct interest of 15.481%.

For the half-year ended June, Excel Force posted a net profit of RM5.28mil, a 4.1% improvement over the same period last year, with revenue at RM29.2mil.
