Fima sues Datasonic Tech for RM24.97m

Its job scope for the contract involves supplying concrete cement and metal for the upgrading of the Train Cargo Terminal at Padang Besar, Perlis, Dolphin said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

KUALA LUMPUR: FIMA Corp Bhd's main manufacturing arm has commenced High Court action against Datasonic Technologies Sdn Bhd for a sum of RM24.975mil.

According to a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Percetakan Keselamatan Nasional Sdn Bhd is claiming the amount as monies owing for 1.5 million Malaysian passport booklets it had supplied to Datasonic.

"As at 30 July 2018, the Defendant has refused, failed and/or neglected to pay the Outstanding Amount.

"The Board of the Company is of the opinion that it is necessary for the Plaintiff to pursue the civil suit to best protect its interest," said Fima in the filing.

It added that the civil suit is not expected to have any material impact on the financial and operational position of the company.
