Syed Zainal Abidin new Petronas Dagangan MD and CEO

KUALA LUMPUR: Petronas Dagangan Bhd will have Datuk Seri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir as its new managing director and chief executive officer.

The company said on Friday that he will assume the posts with effect from June 1.

He takes over from Datuk Mohd Ibrahimnuddin Mohd Yunus who is resigning as the managing director and CEO due to the staff mobility within the Petronas Group.

Syed Zainal Abidin is currently vice president, marketing, downstream business at Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas). 

He is also chairman and director of various subsidiaries within the Petronas Group.

He has set on the boards of RHB Bank, Proton Group and Perodua. 

At RHB Bank, he was an independent director. He was the group managing director of Proton Holdings Bhd and also also deputy managing director of Perodua.
