Defence and security-related jobs to make up big part of BHIC’s business

Boustead expects its shipbuilding business to turn around this year.

PETALING JAYA: Boustead Heavy Industries Corp Bhd (BHIC) expects defence and security-related contracts to continue to make up a significant chunk of its business even as the government reduces its spending on the sector.

Executive deputy chairman and managing director Tan Sri Ahmad Ramli Mohd Nor said the group is making concerted efforts to expand its portfolio by pursuing potential job contracts with the Royal Malaysian Police and Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, apart from foreign parties.
