Star Media honoured at Investor Relations Awards

KUALA LUMPUR: Star Media Group Bhd was honoured in the “Quality of Annual Reports/Formal Disclosure” category at the Investor Relations Awards 2017.

The company beat 19 other companies to clich the top award in the category during the ceremony organised by the Malaysian Investor Relations Association (Mira) yesterday.

The award was presented by Mira chairman Steven Tan to Star Media Group’s corporate planning and strategy senior manager Lim Liat Hong, who received it on behalf of the company.

Among the big winners at the event were Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd, which clinched the prestigious “Best Company for Investor Relations” award in the large cap category, while AirAsia Bhd, Vitrox Corp Bhd and HSS Engineers Bhd won the title in the mid, small and micro sub-categories.

In the “Best CEO for Investor Relations” category, CIMB Group Holdings Bhd’s Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Aziz emerged as the winner among large cap firms. In the same category, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd’s (MAHB) managing director Datuk Badlisham Ghazali and Vitrox Corp Bhd’s Chu Jenn Weng won in the mid and small cap sub-categories, while HSS Engineers Bhd CEO Datuk Nitchiananthan Balasubramaniam won in the micro cap sub-category.

Digi.Com Bhd’s Winnie Ooi was named “Best Investor Relations Professional” among large cap companies, while Hanif Idrose Mohamed of AirAsia X Bhd won in the mid cap sub-category.

Sime Darby Bhd CFO Datuk Tong Poh Keow was named “Best CFO for Investor Relations” among large cap companies, while AirAsia Bhd’s How Kim Lian won the title in the mid cap companies sub-category.
