Subdued Japan inflation, weak demand keep BOJ under pressure


TOKYO: Japan’s core consumer inflation edged up in March but weak demand is keeping firms from raising prices, a perennial problem in the world’s third-biggest economy as it struggles to shake off years of deflation despite Tokyo’s radical stimulus drive.
