HONG KONG: Malaysian renewable energy company reNIKOLA said on Thursday that its unit, reNIKOLA Gedong Solar (Sarawak), signed a 30-year power purchase agreement with Syarikat Sesco Bhd for a planned solar project in Sarawak, the Malaysian state on Borneo island.
The project will require an investment of about RM1bil, reNIKOLA said in a statement.
It will be built in Gedong in Sarawak's Simunjan district and will install solar panel capacity of up to 363 megawatts, or MW, at peak output.
The plant is designed to generate up to 250 MW of electricity for the power grid.
Syarikat Sesco is a wholly owned unit of Sarawak Energy Bhd.
