Tiong Nam bags 2 awards in transportation, logistics categories

PETALING JAYA: Tiong Nam Logistics Holdings Bhd bagged two awards in the transportation and logistics category at Frost & Sullivan’s “Malaysia Excellence Awards”.

Its unit Tiong Nam Logistics Solutions Sdn Bhd won the accolade for the “Domestic Road Transportation Service Provider of the Year” and “Domestic Logistics Service Provider of the Year”.

The other winners under the transportation and logistics category were FM Global Logistics (M) Sdn Bhd, GD Express Sdn Bhd and Poslaju.

“The Malaysia Excellence Awards play an important role in recognising those who are driving innovation and achieving best practices across various industries in the Malaysian market.

“We hope this awards programme will continue to spur these industries forward,” said Frost & Sullivan Malaysia country head Hazmi Yusof.

Frost & Sullivan presented a total of 48 awards at the 10th annual awards at Traders Hotel Puteri Harbour in Johor yesterday.

The 2014 Malaysia Excellence Awards recognised best practices and outstanding performance by Malaysian companies in different sectors such as automation and electronics, automotive, chemicals, energy, environment and building, food, healthcare, information and communication technologies, and logistics.

Other winners were, among others, Sunway Bhd and IJM Land Bhd (environment and building), Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (chemicals, materials and food), KPJ Healthcare Bhd (healthcare) and Telekom Malaysia Bhd (ICT).

The recipients were identified based on indepth interviews, analysis and extensive secondary research conducted by Frost & Sullivan analysts.

The companies were then studied on their revenues, market shares, capabilities and overall contribution to the industry.
