Majority of survey respondents welcome Asean economic integration

PETALING JAYA: Close to 60% of businesses in all 10 Asean member countries consider the Asean economic integration would provide “high or very high opportunity” to their organisations, according to a survey on Asean competitiveness.

The high marks were given by the respondents in the 2013 Asean Business Advisory Council (Asean-BAC) survey although they were mostly lukewarm to the likelihood that Asean would reach its goal of realising the Asean Economic Community (AEC) by the end of 2015.
