Southern Steel to join MSA with a condition


PETALING JAYA: Southern Steel Bhd will be joining the newly-established Malaysia Steel Association (MSA) with the condition that MSA members do not abandon the 40-year old national umbrella body, the Malaysian Iron and Steel Industry Federation (MISIF), said group chief operating officer Chow Chong Long.

The MSA, launched early last week, enjoys representation from almost all the country's top upstream steel players Amsteel Mills Sdn Bhd, Ann Joo Steel Bhd, Ann Joo Integrated Steel Sdn Bhd, Antara Steel Mills Sdn Bhd, Kinsteel Bhd, Malaysia Steel Works (KL) Bhd, Megasteel Sdn Bhd, Perfect Channel Sdn Bhd and Perwaja Holdings Bhd with the exception of Southern Steel.
