KUALA LUMPUR: Gooi Hoe Soon, one of the directors appointed to the board of EON Capital Bhd (EON Cap) after the previous EON Cap board had rejected Hong Leong Bank Bhd
's (HLB) first RM4.92bil offer to buy it, said he did not discuss board-related matters with Tengku Datuk Zafrul Abdul Aziz.
Gooi told the High Court this after co-counsel for Primus (M) Sdn Bhd, Ranjit Singh, suggested in his cross examination that both individuals had discussed matters pertaining to EON Cap matters via phone calls and text messages prior to Feb 3, which was the day Zafrul approached Gooi for consent to become a director of the new board at EON Cap.
