KNM unit, affiliate win RM143mil Thai job

PETALING JAYA: KNM Group Bhd’s wholly owned subsidiary KNM Process Systems Sdn Bhd and its affilliated company, KNM Projects (Thailand) Co Ltd, have jointly secured a RM143mil job from Impress Ethanol Co Ltd for its bioethanol project in Thailand.

The project involved the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of a 200,000-litre-per-day cassava-based bioethanol plant in Chachaengsao, Thailand and was expected to be completed within 18 months, KNM told Bursa Malaysia.

In a separate filing, KNM Group proposed an internal restructuring exercise to streamline and realign the businesses and business units for the Caspian region.

The exercise involves four dormant companies of which three now owned by KNM Process will be sold to KNM Eurasia Sdn Bhd for RM2 each.

KNM will buy the fourth, owned by KNM Exotic Equipment Sdn Bhd, for RM100,000.
