NTPM to roll out second own brand sanitary napkins

NTPM Holdings Bhd is launching a new range of sanitary napkins under its own brand Senora this month.

“We have invested some RM800,000 early this year in a machine to produce Senora, which is our second in-house brand of sanitary napkins.

Intimate, our first in-house brand of high-end sanitary napkins, was introduced in March,” managing director Lee See Jin said in Jawi, Penang.

Lee said NTPM expected the Senora and Intimate brands to help the group achieve a 5% share of the local sanitary napkins market.

“Early next year, we will also launch in Singapore a new range of panty liners under our in-house brand. The feedback indicates that there is a big market for panty liners in Singapore,” he said.

Lee said plans were in the pipeline to introduce NTPM's own brand of baby diapers next year.

“We plan to engage manufacturers in Taiwan and Thailand to produce the baby diapers. We also plan to become a distributor in Malaysia for a reputable brand of adult diapers from Taiwan,” he added.

Lee said NTP had ordered paper-making machinery from Italy to produce stronger and softer tissue paper using crescent former technology.

The machinery, to arrive next June and begin operations in October, could produce 100 tonnes daily, he said.

“Currently, our machinery is capable of producing 150 tonnes per day,” he added.
