Lao Bullion Bank joins Japan Bullion Market Association

VIENTIANE: The Lao Bullion Bank (LBB) has joined the Japan Bullion Market Association (JBMA), marking another step in strengthening Laos’ precious metals market and expanding its connections with international bullion markets.

The membership, announced in Tokyo on November 4, reflects LBB’s commitment to improving operational standards, transparency, sound governance and market integrity in line with international best practices.

Through its membership, the Lao Bullion Bank aims to gain broader access to market information and industry knowledge, strengthen cooperation with participants in Japan and international bullion markets, and contribute to a more connected and efficient regional precious metals market.

The bank also sees potential opportunities in the market for high-purity 5N gold, which has a purity level of 99.999 per cent and is used in semiconductor manufacturing and electronic equipment.

Building relationships with industry participants in Japan will help LBB gain a better understanding of market requirements, identify potential business partners, and explore opportunities across the semiconductor and precious metals supply chains.

LBB said it remains committed to developing quality bullion-related products and services, creating long-term value for customers, investors and stakeholders, and supporting the sustainable growth and international integration of Laos’ bullion market. - Vientiane Times/ANN
