COTABATO CITY (Philippines): (Bernama-PNA) -- Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua on Thursday (Nov 5) announced the composition of his regional cabinet, naming the officials to lead the ministries and offices under the new Government of the Day.

Macacua said the newly appointed officials would help him govern the region for all Bangsamoro residents, steer the regional government, and advance its programs and services, Philippine News Agency (PNA) reported on Thursday.

More than 60 applicants sought various positions in the BARMM government and the Office of the Chief Minister, following the opening of applications for key cabinet posts.

Before the announcement, the BARMM government formed a committee to screen applicants for key cabinet positions as part of efforts to ensure a merit-based selection process.

The screening process was intended to ensure that appointees have the competence, integrity, professional experience, and leadership capabilities required to serve the region. - Bernama-PNA
