Cambodia, Croatia sign deals on diplomatic visa exemptions, foreign service training

PHNOM PENH: Cambodia and Croatia signed two agreements on Tuesday (Oct 20) to exempt diplomatic passport holders from visa requirements and cooperate on diplomatic education, according to a press release from Cambodia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The pacts were inked in Phnom Penh by Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prak Sokhonn and visiting Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlic Radman.

Prior to the signing ceremony, the two foreign ministers held a productive bilateral meeting. They expressed appreciation for the longstanding friendship and close cooperation between Cambodia and Croatia, which have flourished over the past three decades as both countries commemorate the 30th anniversary of their diplomatic relations this year.

Both ministers held in-depth discussions on ways to further strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation across priority areas, including trade and investment, agro-industry, transportation and logistics, education, tourism, demining and people-to-people ties, the news release said.

Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening cooperation through multilateral platforms, with a view to promoting lasting peace, stability, and sustainable development in their respective regions and beyond, guided by the principles of multilateralism and respect for international law, the release added.
