JAKARTA: Former Indonesian President Joko Widodo (pic) has extended his condolences to former Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his family following the passing of his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali.
Widely known as Jokowi, he expressed his deep sorrow over Dr Siti Hasmah’s passing and prayed that Dr Mahathir and the entire family would be granted strength, fortitude and patience.
"We bid her farewell with our prayers. May Allah accept all her good deeds and acts of worship,” he said in a social media post.
Dr Siti Hasmah died at the National Heart Institute (IJN) at 9.20 am Monday (Sept 28) at the age of 100, leaving behind Dr Mahathir and their seven children.
The late Dr Siti Hasmah was accorded a State Funeral before being laid to rest at the Heroes’ Mausoleum (Pusara Negara) in Precinct 20, Putrajaya at 6.20pm the same day. - Bernama
