Brunei's Prince Mateen meets US Commerce Secretary, visits CIA

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Prince ‘Abdul Mateen, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met United States (US) Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick in Washington, DC, to discuss opportunities to strengthen trade and investment ties between Brunei and the US.

The meeting took place during His Royal Highness’ working visit to the US capital, following his participation in the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, which included delivering Brunei Darussalam’s national statement at the General Debate on September 26.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on Tuesday (Sept 29), His Royal Highness also visited the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in Virginia, where he received briefings from several senior officials and exchanged views on regional and international matters of mutual concern.

His Royal Highness was accompanied by Pengiran Anak Isteri Anisha Rosnah Adam and Pengiran Anak Zahra Mariam Bolkiah. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
