It's confirmed: China leader Xi Jinping to pay state visit to the US from Wednesday to Friday (Sept 23-25)

MOSCOW (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti): Chinese President Xi Jinping will pay a state visit to the United States (US) from September 23 to 25 (Wednesday - Friday), the Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Monday.

"At the invitation of US President Donald Trump, Chinese President Xi Jinping will travel to the United States on a state visit from September 23 to 25,” the ministry said in a statement.

Xi will discuss bilateral relations with US President Donald Trump, as well as key issues related to global peace and development, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said on Monday, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.

"During the visit, Chinese President Xi Jinping will hold an in-depth exchange of views with US President Donald Trump on key issues related to Sino-US relations, as well as global peace and development,” Guo told reporters.

He said China also congratulated Russia on the successful holding of the country’s parliamentary elections.

"China congratulates Russia on the successful holding of the State Duma elections,” Guo told reporters.

China supports the choice made independently by the Russian people in the elections and is ready to work with Russia to help take bilateral relations to a new level, Guo added.
