BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Recent rainfall has helped subdue haze conditions in Brunei, with all four districts recording good air quality at 11am on Tuesday (Sept 15).
The Department of Environment, Parks and Rereation (JASTRe) recorded a PSI of 20 in Brunei-Muara, 26 in Belait, 32 in Temburong and 20 in Tutong.
All readings were below 50, which is classified as good air quality.
The latest readings marked an improvement from the 9am readings, when Temburong recorded a moderate PSI of 51, while Brunei-Muara, Belait and Tutong recorded good readings of 33, 29 and 33 respectively.
JASTRe has been issuing PSI updates five times daily at 7am, 9am, 11am, 2pm and 4pm during the hazy period.
Since Sept 1, air quality reporting has incorporated PM2.5 concentrations into the PSI.
The department advised the public to continue checking the latest PSI readings through its website or Instagram account.
The public is also reminded to refrain from open burning and other activities that could worsen haze conditions during the dry period. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
