MOSCOW (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti): Amidst discussions about slowing down artificial intelligence (AI) development, US entrepreneur Elon Musk recalled that he had warned as early as 12 years ago that AI could be more dangerous than nuclear weapons, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.
On Saturday, Anthropic chief executive Dario Amodei called for slowing down the development of more powerful AI models due to safety concerns. Musk later expressed his agreement with the proposal to slow down AI.
"12 years ago," Musk replied to a post of his from 2014, in which he had emphasised that artificial intelligence was "potentially more dangerous than nukes".
Earlier, Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon announced his departure from the AI industry, fearing that the race among tech corporations was bringing the world closer to a "point of no return" and could lead to an apocalyptic scenario as early as the end of 2027.
